Mission King of the Baggers

“What started out as an experiment has grown into the most talked about class of racing in years!” -MotoAmerica

The Mission King of the Baggers (KOB) is a class of motorcycle racing where Harley-Davidsons and Indian V-Twins merge together to create fascinating professional road coarse racing. In 2024, the class will be showcased at eight locations across the country with two races hosted at each of the tracks, along with an additional two qualifying sessions per class each weekend. With the help of our team and sponsors, privateer rider, builder, and team owner Robert Johnson #713, will also be participating in the Roland Sands Super Hooligans series as well. For the past two seasons, Johnson has been the only rider in the paddock racing both Super Hooligans and King of the Baggers on ONE JET modified 2017 H-D Road Glide. With a great team behind him at each event, the bagger fairing and bags are removed from the bike and Hooligan plates mounted on in their place. In 2022, Johnson took 2nd place in the air-cooled division at the Road Atlanta Super Hooligans round. Over the last few years Johnson has been a man of many hats (Husband, Homeschooling Dad, Engineer, JET Business owner, Classical Conversations tutor, and Youth Bible teacher in his church), all while participating in the highest level of Bagger Racing in the Country. What a ride it has been, and with many ideas for improvement both for him as a rider and builder, the best is yet to come for Johnson and his sponsors.

The involvement in two classes gives Johnson Engine Technology (JET) and our sponsors a MINIMUM of 52 opportunities per race season to gain exposure both nationwide and globally across various forms of media and foot traffic. For those unfamiliar with MotoAmerica, the series may be equated to the NFL, NBA, or NHA with each series representing the highest level of their sport in the United States of America. From 2022 to 2023, through Linear TV alone, viewership for the KOB class alone grew by 680, 072 viewers. Social Media engagement was on the rise as well, with an increase of 1,385,229 and 34,882,980 video views across various platforms through MotoAmerica alone! The King of Baggers class if truly on the rise in popularity since the inception of the class just 3 years ago in 2021.

Johnson Engine Technology (JET) has a deep multi-generational history of motorcycle racing. Robert himself has been racing on and off since 2004, taking some breaks from the sport while growing his family, which consists of his wife Angelica and three girls who are actively involved in the smooth running of each weekend. In the past he has successfully raced a Buell XB12 and a GSXR 600 in CCS/ASRA and took home the 1st place belt in the 2023 Daytona Pro-BRL round. As a privateer competing against many highly supported and talented teams including the factory Harley-Davidson and Indian teams, Johnson has qualified for all events he entered in the 2022 and 2023 seasons, with the exception of one race weekend. JET has officially registered for the 2024 MotoAmerica race season and Robert will be entering his 3rd year of participation in the increasingly popular series.
